Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his solo debut. Beloved titles from Japanese superstar guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka's Kitty Years are newly remastered. As a leading figure in the recent worldwide Japanese fusion boom, Takanaka is rapidly gaining popularity not only in Japan but also across Europe and North America. Using high-resolution audio sourced from the original master tapes, this release was remastered and lacquer-cut at Abbey Road Studios in London. All three titles in this series were remastered and cut by Alex Wharton, one of Abbey Road Studios' representative engineers. Each album will be released on color vinyl that expands the visual impression of the original jacket artwork. Welcome to the Summer Kingdom. The album opens with the line, "It's so hot. I want to go somewhere." Side A, Track 1 immediately draws you into a tropical paradise with a reggae rhythm. Throughout the album, Takanaka's glossy, soaring guitar keeps the mood permanently sun-drenched. Highlights include the Latin-flavored "CUBAN HEELS," featuring Orquesta del Sol, and "DANCING TO CAT GUITAR," where funky guitar bursts through an electric beat, along with many other summer killer tunes.
