Return & Refund Policy

At Spinning Vault Records, every record is packed and handled with care. We understand that collecting vinyl is personal, and we aim to provide a fair and transparent experience in line with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind purchases, including:

  • Incorrect selections made by the customer
  • Accidental orders
  • Preference changes after purchase
  • Requests due to minor packaging imperfections disclosed in product descriptions

Please review all product details carefully before placing your order.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement, repair, or refund if an item:

  • Arrives damaged
  • Is faulty or defective
  • Is significantly different from its description
  • Is the incorrect item sent by us

If you experience any of the above, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order at:

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the item and packaging
  • A brief explanation of the issue

We may request the item to be returned before processing a resolution.

Vinyl-Specific Notes

Vinyl records are delicate collectible items and may occasionally contain minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect playback, including:

  • Slight corner wear
  • Minor seam splits from transit
  • Shrink wrap imperfections
  • Small manufacturing marks or colour variations

These are generally considered normal within the vinyl industry and may not qualify as faults under ACL unless they substantially impact the product’s functionality or differ significantly from the listing description.

Pre-Orders

Pre-order cancellations are accepted only before stock has been allocated or dispatched.

Once a pre-order item has been prepared for fulfilment, cancellations may no longer be possible.

If a supplier cancels or cannot fulfil a release, customers will receive a full refund.

Release dates are subject to change by labels, distributors, and manufacturers without notice.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used during checkout.

Please allow:

  • 3–10 business days for processing after approval
  • Additional time depending on your payment provider or bank

Shipping costs are generally non-refundable unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

Return Shipping

If a return is approved due to a fault or error on our end, Spinning Vault Records will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

For non-fault returns approved at our discretion, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Items must be returned:

  • In original condition
  • With all included packaging where possible
  • Securely packed to prevent transit damage

Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
